Without exception, the cornerstone of the holistic approach is a healthy diet. This cannot be over-emphasized. No other therapies, whether holistic or conventional, will truly be of benefit if you do not provide the necessary nourishment for your body to do its work.
We understand however that making sense out of all the diet information available nowadays can be quite confusing and causes people to become frustrated, make rash decisions and often feel less motivated to eat healthier.
At DS Holistics we’ll give you plenty of personal attention, guide you with sound advice and coach you toward applying the right nutrition plan while achieving your health goals.
Working with a nutritional therapist means you get to find out the approach to healthy eating that works for YOU!
This work is most effective with clients who are ready to implement changes in their regular diets and lifestyle practices (however great or small) to improve their health and quality of life.
The food you eat affects every cell and system in your body. It optimises how you look and feel. The right nutrition can make the difference between feeling just "okay" and feeling in top form, both mentally and physically.

What happens at the consultation? To start the process for a consultation a Health Questionnaire will be sent to you by e-mail. You will be asked to complete the questionnaire and to send it back to us for assessment.
The first consultation usually takes an hour. We will focus on your main health concerns and will look at how your diet may be contributing to your symptoms. During this appointment we will make specific dietary recommendations. You will be given information about meal ideas, important foods for you to add into your diet and those that you should remove from your diet. You will receive an advice on necessary lifestyle changes and steps to take in order to meet your goals.
Follow up appointments. We typically recommend a follow-up consultation 4-6 weeks after the initial appointment. We also offer ongoing support via email or telephone to help keep you on track. During the follow up appointment your progress will be monitored, further diet or lifestyle changes will be planned if necessary. The follow up consultation takes 30 minutes.
Will I need to take supplements? It depends. We would prefer you to get the nutrients that you need through food. However, sometimes we do suggest the therapeutic use of nutritional supplements.
